New Discoveries!

I recently was able to found "Mountain Dew" here- actually it's a little different and the translated name is "Turbulent Wave"- however it's only on the east coast so I've been ordering it online and having it shipped here. Pretty cool stuff- the bottle rocks.
Also- Lay's has a new flavor of potato chip- "Lemon Iced Tea"- it's really pretty good and it might knock off my previous favorite flavor- Blueberry.

Cool Welcome Sign!!!

When anyone arrives in our airport- these are the cool signs that greet male travelers in front of the urinals. So whenever any of you want to come and visit us, you will be welcomed by the friendly Panda saying "Please Aim Carefully". Pretty cool huh?

Children's day

It was recently "children's day" here which is a big holiday. At Jacob and Lydia's school- they had a big food fair where each class got to make some fun and interesting food, then each kid received 5 pieces of money to buy 5 different food items from the classes. Then they brought it home to eat. They had a blast making food and enjoyed sharing it with mom and dad. :)

Jacob and his Legos

Recently Jacob has been making some very creative things with his legos. Last week, each day was a new creation- a space shuttle, airplane, swords, and laser guns. He is quite a "boy" in all ways!

The Guitar is a Big Hit!

Jason picked out a guitar for Liz's birthday with the help of a friend and Liz's grandparents helped with the cost. It was a huge hit with Liz and the kids! They all wanted to play it. :)

Julia Playing with the big kids

Julia loves being with big brother and big sister- here are a few pics of them together.

Julia is a Cutie!

Julia is getting more and more personality. She is crawling now and is pretty close to walking but still a little nervous about it. She loves to laugh and smile.

Wedding

Jacob got to be in his first wedding here- fun stuff. He was the ring bearer. Right before it was his time, he said "I've got to go to the bathroom" and it took a while. While he was still going- I (jason) heard that it was his time so I tried to hurry him up. Then when we got out, he wouldn't go up the aisle. (he had the real rings too) So I went near the front to help him come to me. Then he finally came quickly skipping up the aisle and handed off the rings. Quite an experience.
The buffet afterwards was BBQ with such cool dishes as cow tongue, chicken heart, duck neck, etc. Yum Yum!

Great Wall

I had fun at the Great Wall recently!

Medical conference

We had a good time on the east coast for a medical conference- seeing some old friends. :)

Flat Stanley Comes to Asia!

Jacob and Lydia's cousins Logan and Ethan mailed "Flat Stanley" to us here to go on some adventures. It's a kids book about this guy who gets flattened, but can then go in an envelope to lots of fun places. :) You can see them below.

Flat Stanley is checking out the local market with pig brains, chicken hearts, and some intestines I think. Yum Yum.

Learning how to use chopsticks.

Learning some language. :)
Riding on a bike

Kayaking with Daddy

Jacob and Lydia got to take turns going out on a kayak with Daddy. They were a little apprehensive at first but in the end really enjoyed it. Jacob also enjoyed helping to pull the kayak back on the beach.

Boat Trip

Jason, Jacob, Lydia, Mimi and Papa all got to go on a boat trip to a near by island. The island is called monkey island because it is inhabited by monkeys (I know surprising). These monkeys were very friendly, maybe a little too friendly :). Once the kids got back home they said they enjoyed the trip, but while they were on the boat they were a little scared of the waves. In fact, Lydia was hanging on to either Mimi or Papa for dear life the whole trip.
