Ultraman

In the last week Jacob has started to sleep much better (since we got back from Thailand) at night and is now staying in his own room all night. As a reward for sleeping in his room he got an "ultraman" mask. It is a superhero that is popular here, it originates in Japan. The kids really enjoy wearing it and "scaring" us.

Easter Celebration

We had a good time celebrating Easter as a family. We got to sing and read the story together and then the kids enjoyed hunting for eggs and getting treats in their Easter baskets. We were also able to celebrate with some of our friends.

Spring Outing

One day this week we had a holiday so both Jacob and Jason were off from their classes so we decided to go to a near by park. We enjoyed walking around and getting to see some of the beautiful signs of spring. It was nice to get a little bit away from all the traffic and business where things are a little quieter. The park we were at also has some historical sights, there is a picture of the kids standing in some sort of gateway (we are not sure exactly the significance but thought it would make a good picture).

Fun in the Sun

This has become our new favorite afternoon spot. The sun comes in our window in the living room and we push the couch up against the window so that we can enjoy the sunshine. We don't get a lot of sun here so when we do we try to take advantage of it. As you can see the kids are not used to the sun and have to wear their shades.

Dress up

We were getting out our spring/summer clothes and the kids found these "dress up" clothes. They had a blast. As you can tell they also like to dress up in just about anything.

Jacob's Birthday Party

We were a little ambitious for Jacob's birthday party and ended up with about 25 people with 11 small children in our small apartment. It was fun though and it was great to see how many people wanted to come and celebrate with us for Jacob's birthday. We played some quick games (trying to keep the attention span of 3 and unders), had pizza and chocolate cake. We had a good mix of other foreigners as well as some locals including one girl from Jacob's class and a couple of families from our apartment complex. Jacob was also blessed with an overabundance of presents. Lydia also got a present that you see her riding in the last picture.

Jacob's Birthday at Preschool

Jacob took some muffins to his class for his birthday. Jason had the great idea of leaving his camera so we could get a sneak peak at what things look like for him in his class. You can see him eating the muffin with his classmates as well as enjoying his lunch.
