Yummy Food!!

Our kids (and us too) have really enjoyed the food and Jacob had began using his chopsticks some! pretty fun stuff!

New Place

d

Well- we signed a contract on an apartment today. It was a difficult process, but we're glad to have a place. The current owners will be out on Thursday and we'll move in after that- so we still have 5 days or so. No, I didn't choose the purple and pink decor :) but it was in a very good location and had a good layout. There is a good preschool right in the complex. It also has a couple of cool balconies. maybe those colors will cheer us up on cloudy days. :) It's funny to see Century 21 there- they were very nice.

Casualties :)

Well- this transition so far has been a rollercoaster of emotions. We have had highs of interactions with the locals, yummy food, meeting new friends, and reconnecting with old ones. We've also had some lows of jet-lag, some boo-boos, and lost items. (it's tough to remember everything with jet-lag, 2 little ones, and millions of people around).

When we were looking at apartments, Lydia slipped into a small table and busted her lip a little bit- not very fun for any of us. This is her squinty face and her swollen lip above. Also- in a taxi ride we left Jacob's 2 "lovies" - Giraffe and Sheepy. Not great during a big transition. Thankfully we have an extra sheepy, but his beloved giraffe that he's had the last 2.5yrs is gone. Perhaps this is issuing in a new chapter in his life of being a big boy. He really hasn't seemed to miss it all that much. :)

New friends

Although all of us are still struggling through jet lag- we're still making some new friends. We are a little bit of a spectacle as we walk around (I think we actually may have caused a small accident when a biker was watching our kids instead of the road)- but it is a fun time to interact and try out the little bit of language we have.

Jacob had a fun time playing in the balls with a couple of new friends in the picture above. He is excited about the possibility of going to a preschool here in the future.

Pumpkin Patch

A beautiful fall day at the farm in Seattle. We rode on a hayride out to a pumpkin patch and Jacob helped pick out a very cool pumpkin. We also saw a pumpkin launcher, horses, pigs, chickens, and had a nice picnic lunch.

Seattle Aquarium

Jacob, Lydia and Conner (Liz's sister- Meg's son) all had a great time at the Seattle aquarium. Jacob really liked the Divers! There were many tide pools where they touched starfish, sea anemones, and other things. The big octopus was also a highlight.

Time in Tennessee

We had a great time with our family in Tennessee. We got to spend a night with Liz's second cousin in Kingsport on our way to Hendersonville. In Hendersonville we spent two nights with Jason's sister and her family. After that we went to Bolivar and spent a week with Jason's parents. Jason's sister and her family were also able to come down for a few days and we had a surprise visit from Jason's grandparents from Missouri. The kids had a wonderful time with their grandparents and cousins!
